WHO’S PRODUCING WHAT WHEN?
This production company (not AA Inc) is producing a short number of visual ‘experiments’ as a pitch to Google. Their potential client is interested in new ideas and would like to explore these further before committing funds for full production. So the production company shooting a small ‘sizzle reel’ this coming Friday 29th and Saturday 30th June.
They particularly need some actors who are good at improv to help them out in the Saturday morning 30th June.
Unfortunately, they cannot offer any cash pay. They will provide food and water throughout the day (like any short film shoot).
This company is producing a lot of content these days and they are always on the lookout for talented actors. Though these new video experiments are running on a minimal budget, if their client likes their ideas, there may be funds for future production.

advertising agencies must pay their actors irrespective of the budget. especially when it seems we are being asked not only to perform but come up with a portion of creative content.
not good enough.

Hey Anvildrops
Thanks for your comment – its such a tricky issue isn’t it. I agree for commissioned pieces of work from an agency’s client that all cast and crew should be paid – and at Equity rate too! However, if a production company just wants to put some pilot content together, that isn’t being published anywhere, for no commercial use, I think many actors are happy to be involved in projects like this. There isnt much work in Australia so its a good chance to flex your skills, meet some good cast and crew, get some content for your showreel, and hopefully if you do a good job, the client commissions a series, and we all get paid!
Best of luck
